It has taken literally 30 or more days to pack. Can you realistically take 5 pairs of shoes to London? Well you can, but keep in mind you will carry that extra baggage. We decided we would take carry-on only. This will consist of a small rolling bag each and purse or small backpack. Inside the rolling bag, clothes, an extra pair of shoes, essentials kit with bare minimum necessities, netbook and miscellaneous electronics.
Tyler will have five shirts and four pants, stuffed inside vacuum bags. These clothes can easily fit in a double-shoe box and the saved space is important for bringing things home.
One quart sized zip loc bag each holds liquids not to exceed three ounces. This is a TSA requirement. These will easily hold 20 one ounce bottles of gin, vodka, bourbon etc. We will have to pick up shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, makeup (considered liquid) etc., at the local grocery store.
When you are new in Britain, I have heard shopping is a challenge. Many people cannot tell toothpaste from hemorrhoid cream. But, after finishing off my quart bag on the plane, I won't really care. I love the speed of flying, but not being so far up.
Stay tuned, we have lots of fun planned for our 15 days in the UK.
